“TALAI” ART

There was a total of 88 Talai rockets of various size in the Bang Fai Talai competition. Naturally, the teams would have to make their circular rockets stand out from each other.

Some paints the traditionally woven circular bamboo wing in vibrant colors, some even alter their exhaust vent of the Talai for it to rotate in the different direction to the others when launched.

Unintentionally, Talai is where Isan tradition meets it’s innovation and individuality.

และตะไลยี่สิบล้าน 1 บั้ง

จะน้อยจะใหญ่ ในหนึ่งการแข่งขันที่มีบั้งไฟเยอะขนาดนี้ ก็ต้องทำให้ดูออกว่าของใครเป็นของใคร

บ้างก็ตกแต่งโครงไผ่สานมือด้วยสีและลายที่โดดเด่น บางทีมไปอีกขั้นด้วยการเจาะรูไอพ่นให้พุ่งตรงข้ามกับกลุ่มอื่น เพื่อให้เวลาตะไลขึ้นจะได้หมุนไม่เหมือนใคร

เมื่อมองอย่างนี้ เห็นได้อย่างชัดเจนว่าบั้งไฟตะไลคือสิ่งที่อยู่ตรงกลางระหว่างวิทยาศาสตร์ ภูมิปัญญาพื้นบ้าน และการนำเสนอตัวตน
